Iraq Affirms Commitment to Arab League Principles on 80th Anniversary

Baghdad, Iraq – On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Arab League’s founding, the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed Iraq’s strong commitment to the principles of the League, emphasizing its ongoing support for efforts to promote Arab solidarity and defend just causes, with special focus on the Palestinian cause.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Ministry highlighted that as one of the founding member states of the Arab League, Iraq remains dedicated to fostering unity within the Arab world. The statement acknowledged the important role the League has played in confronting regional and international challenges, especially in promoting Arab cooperation.

The Ministry also called for enhanced mechanisms for joint Arab action and the promotion of economic and social integration, aiming to strengthen the Arab nation’s standing globally and meet the aspirations of its people.

Finally, the Ministry reiterated Iraq’s readiness to contribute effectively to achieving the Arab League’s goals and advancing joint Arab action for a more cooperative future among Arab nations.
