Erbil Hosts Global Conference on Climate Change

Erbil hosted the first international climate change conference today. The event, organized by Salahaddin University, attracted global attention. Scholars and experts gathered in the Kurdish region to discuss environmental challenges. The key phrase “Erbil hosts global conference on climate change” reflects the significance of the event.

Delegates from 13 different countries joined the conference. These nations include Tunisia, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, Greece, Bangladesh, Jordan, Turkey, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the Netherlands, Iran, and Syria. Their presence showed strong international interest in regional climate issues.

The event lasts for two days. During this period, participants will present and debate vital topics. Over 160 researchers and academics are taking part. They aim to share findings, propose solutions, and build collaborations. Salahaddin University plays a major role in organizing this critical event.

The conference features 54 research papers. These studies explore climate change in Iraq, the Kurdistan Region, and particularly Erbil. The broad range of topics ensures a comprehensive understanding of the crisis. This diversity highlights the urgency of global cooperation.

According to Saman Abdullah, the university’s media officer, the goal is to inspire action. He emphasized the importance of scientific dialogue. Through research and open discussions, solutions can emerge. “Erbil hosts global conference on climate change,” he said proudly.
