Condemning Hunger as a Weapon

The Iraqi government strongly condemned what it called the deliberate starvation of civilians in Gaza. Officials accused Israel of using hunger as a tactic of war. This approach, they said, violates both legal principles and humanitarian values.

Government spokesperson Basem Al-Awadi sharply criticized Israel’s siege on Gaza. He said the blockade is intentionally preventing food and aid from reaching people in desperate need. According to Al-Awadi, this strategy aims to worsen the suffering of Palestinians.

He emphasized that using hunger against civilians crosses all moral and legal boundaries. He called the situation on the ground painful and deeply alarming. He also said that what is happening in Gaza reflects an effort to impose complete devastation.

Al-Awadi urged Arab and Islamic nations to act decisively. He encouraged them to push for the urgent delivery of food and medical assistance. He also called on international organizations to take clear and immediate steps. He said the time has come for unified action to support Gaza’s population.

Moreover, he accused Israel of intensifying the crisis. According to Al-Awadi, the Israeli military has blocked humanitarian convoys, including those from the United Nations. These actions, he said, have made the humanitarian disaster worse with each passing day.

The blockade, he noted, has been in place for months. As a result, thousands of civilians face severe shortages of food, water, and medicine. Aid agencies have reported difficulty gaining access to those most affected.

In his remarks, Al-Awadi highlighted the need for accountability. He stressed that the international community must not ignore such violations. According to him, silence would only encourage further suffering.

Iraq continues condemning hunger as a weapon. Leaders insist that humanitarian principles must guide every nation’s actions. Officials said Gaza’s people deserve dignity, not starvation.

In conclusion, Iraq is condemning hunger as a weapon and calling for global pressure to end the siege. The government insists that protecting innocent lives must remain the highest priority.
