Boxy transforms Iraq logistics with AI-powered platform

Boxy transforms Iraq logistics as it launches the country’s first AI-driven shipping aggregator. Backed by EQIQ’s $1.5 million pre-seed funding, Boxy now leads a major digital shift in Iraqi e-commerce.

Founded in 2024 by Ahmed Baqer and Mehrshad Pezeshk with EQIQ, Boxy plans to unite over 1,500 last-mile couriers. This platform solves a long-standing logistics issue that has limited e-commerce growth in Iraq.

Importantly, the investment aligns with EQIQ’s broader vision. According to Founding Partner Mohamed Al-Hakim, logistics forms the core of Iraq’s digital growth. “In a market driven by cash and lacking efficient delivery,” he noted, “logistics becomes the backbone of e-commerce.”

The company’s AI engine routes each shipment to the best courier using merchant preferences and courier data. This smart matching system saves merchants time, reduces cost, and simplifies shipping. It also removes the hassle of managing several dashboards or dealing with multiple courier companies.

Boxy transforms Iraq logistics through both innovation and speed. Since its launch in October 2024, Boxy has posted high double-digit growth. Just last month, it doubled its merchant base, signaling strong product-market fit and operational success.

CEO Ahmed Baqer emphasized that Boxy provides real alternatives. “We are solving the merchant’s biggest problem,” he explained. “Using real-time data, we match each order to the right courier. This avoids reliance on a single delivery option.”

Boxy’s progress also reflects EQIQ’s strategy of backing experienced founders. Their team brings more than 25 years of industry knowledge. Together, they aim to reshape how goods move within Iraq and eventually beyond its borders.

With fresh capital, Boxy will scale its technology, enhance AI capabilities, and expand to Baghdad and other provinces. More courier partnerships are also underway.

Boxy transforms Iraq logistics by making smart shipping the new standard. As e-commerce rises, Boxy stands ready to lead Iraq into a smarter, faster delivery future.
