Biometric Voter Registration Expands Across Nineveh

Biometric voter registration expands across Nineveh as electoral teams work to reach more citizens. The Independent High Electoral Commission has updated data for over 80,000 voters so far.

Jihad Aouni, assistant director at the Nineveh Elections Office, shared this development. He confirmed that all resources have been dedicated to support biometric voter registration in the province. The goal is to update voter cards for as many citizens as possible.

Aouni highlighted that mobile registration teams operate across many areas in Nineveh. These teams visit government buildings, universities, mosques, and public places. Citizens continue to show strong interest and cooperate well with the process.

The commission plans to expand efforts further. Their teams aim to meet increasing demand as the biometric voter registration expands.

Spokesperson Sufyan Al-Mashhadani provided more details about Nineveh’s voter landscape. He reported that the province contains 140 voting centers. The number of eligible voters exceeds 2.9 million.

He added that around 1.8 million voters already possess biometric cards. However, the commission wants every eligible citizen to receive one. Therefore, they continue to push forward with data updates and outreach.

Meanwhile, Nineveh University professor Dildar Rashid Abdul Karim praised the mobile teams. He emphasized their strong presence in government departments and academic institutions. He noted that the registration process helps build electoral awareness among students and professionals alike.

Local officials and educators now work together to support this initiative. Their collaboration highlights the importance of civic participation.

As biometric voter registration expands, the province of Nineveh sets a strong example. This campaign ensures voters are prepared and informed. It also strengthens trust in the electoral process.

Ultimately, biometric voter registration expands not only access but also confidence in democratic participation.
