The Iraqi National Symphony Orchestra will be a major highlight at the opening ceremony celebrating Baghdad’s designation as the 2025 Arab Tourism Capital. The event, expected to attract a wide Arab audience, will feature a stunning musical performance, as revealed by Mohammed Amin Ezzat, head of the Iraqi Symphony Orchestra.
Ezzat explained, “Our orchestra will play an essential role in this grand occasion, where Arab musical groups will join us in presenting a rich fusion of heritage music in an unforgettable symphonic performance that will leave the audience in awe.”
He added that composers from Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, along with well-known Arab musicians specializing in orchestral music, will participate. The concert will celebrate the musical heritage of these countries in a symphonic format, incorporating traditional instruments alongside Iraqi music, representing Baghdad’s cultural essence. Additionally, musicians like Qutayba Al-Nuaimi and Alan Aref, showcasing Kurdish music, along with artist Nova—daughter of the iconic Sita Hakobyan—will make the performance even more remarkable.
