Baghdad Ready to Host Arab Summit, Iraq’s Commitment to Regional Unity Stressed

Baghdad – Qahtan Taha Khalaf, Iraq’s delegate to the Arab League, confirmed Baghdad’s preparedness to host the upcoming Arab Summit. This affirmation follows the Arab League’s recognition of Iraq’s continuous efforts to support Arab unity and its readiness to lead the summit.

Khalaf met with Ambassador Hussam Zaki, Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, at the General Secretariat in Cairo. During the meeting, the two discussed various aspects of cooperation and coordination between Iraq and the Arab League. They specifically focused on Iraq’s preparations for the Arab Summit, scheduled to take place in Baghdad.

Khalaf expressed Iraq’s strong commitment to hosting the summit. “Iraq is ready and eager to provide all the necessary resources for the summit’s success,” he said. His comments highlighted Iraq’s central role within the Arab system and its dedication to enhancing regional cooperation.

Ambassador Zaki acknowledged Iraq’s significant role in strengthening joint Arab efforts. He praised Iraq’s readiness to host the summit, emphasizing the importance of the event at this crucial time. “Supporting the Palestinian people and promoting Arab unity are key objectives at this stage,” Zaki noted. He also pointed out that enhancing the Arab position in both regional and international forums is critical for addressing current challenges.

Both officials agreed that the summit represents a vital opportunity to reinforce Arab solidarity. The gathering will serve as a platform for discussing important regional issues, with a focus on collaboration and unity.

Iraq’s active role in the Arab League and its efforts to bring about positive change were key themes of the discussion. As Baghdad prepares to host the summit, it is clear that the event will be pivotal in shaping the future of Arab cooperation.

This summit marks a defining moment for the Arab world, as Iraq takes center stage in efforts to unite the region. The success of the summit will not only reflect Iraq’s capabilities but also its commitment to fostering peace and stability across the Arab world.
