Baghdad, Iraq- A delegation from the Arab Parliament presented a letter to the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), outlining evidence of alleged crimes committed by Israel against the Palestinian people.
The delegation, led by Iraqi lawmaker Ahmed Al-Jubouri, met with ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan and his legal team to discuss the ongoing efforts in support of the Palestinian cause. Al-Jubouri highlighted the Arab Parliament’s commitment to addressing the situation through legal means, emphasizing the importance of holding Israel accountable for its actions.
During the meeting, the delegation presented the letter from the Speaker of the Arab Parliament, reaffirming their dedication to providing the ICC with evidence and documentation regarding the alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by Israel. The Arab Parliament has established a specialized team to collect and file a complaint against Israel, with the aim of bringing attention to these grave accusations.
In addition, the delegation expressed their desire to host ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan at a future parliamentary session to discuss the progress of the case related to Palestine. This move highlights the Arab Parliament’s strong stance on advocating for justice on behalf of the Palestinian people.
The Arab Parliament had previously formed a team to document war crimes and violations during the Israeli offensive from October 2023, until the declaration of a ceasefire. This evidence will be submitted to the ICC to support the ongoing investigation into Israel’s actions.
