President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid Presents Key Appointments to Baghdad and Salah al-Din

President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid officially presented the appointment decrees for Baghdad’s new Mayor and Salah al-Din’s Governor on Thursday. President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid emphasized that both positions are critical for improving governance, public services, and regional stability. These appointments reflect a focus on development, administrative reform, and citizen welfare.

In Baghdad, the President received Mayor Ammar Musa Kadhim at Baghdad Palace and handed him the decree formally appointing him as Mayor. Jamal Rashid highlighted the capital’s historical, cultural, and civilizational importance. He stressed that Baghdad’s dense population requires significant attention and enhanced development efforts.

The President also called for supporting the capital through effective administrative and financial legislation to improve services for residents. Mayor Kadhim expressed gratitude for the appointment. He pledged to use all available resources to elevate Baghdad’s infrastructure and public services. He reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing the city’s civilizational and cultural standing among Arab and international capitals.

In a separate ceremony, President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid presented the presidential decree to Haitham Al-Zahwan. He appointed Al-Zahwan as Governor of Salah al-Din Governorate. During the meeting, the President emphasized the need for efforts that ensure security and social stability. 

Meanwhile, Governor Al-Zahwan thanked the President and pledged to serve the province with responsibility. Additionally, he stressed the need for stability, effective administration, and local development projects to benefit all residents.

These appointments mark a strategic step in strengthening Iraq’s governance and regional administration. President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid underlined that proactive leadership and coordinated efforts are vital for both Baghdad and Salah al-Din. Officials are expected to prioritize citizen welfare, security, and development initiatives in the coming months.

The appointments also signal a broader effort to enhance administrative efficiency across Iraq’s provinces. By focusing on development, service improvement, and stability, Baghdad and Salah al-Din aim to serve as models of effective provincial governance. President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid’s involvement underscores the administration’s commitment to progress and accountable leadership.
