Iran-Israel Ceasefire Welcomed by Kurdistan Region President Barzani

Baghdad – The Iran-Israel ceasefire received strong support from Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani on Tuesday. He called for all parties to prioritize dialogue and mutual understanding. According to Barzani, constructive talks offer the only path toward lasting peace and stability in the Middle East.

In a statement posted on X, Barzani said, “I welcome President @realDonaldTrump’s announcement of the Iran-Israel ceasefire.” He stressed the importance of inclusive communication and cooperation among regional powers. For Barzani, diplomacy remains the key to reducing conflict and building long-term security.

The ceasefire officially began on Tuesday, June 24. It followed nearly two weeks of intense hostilities between Iran and Israel. The crisis started on June 13 when Israel launched airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites. Iran retaliated with missile strikes targeting Israeli cities. The escalation raised global concerns over a wider regional war.

Barzani expressed gratitude to U.S. President Donald Trump for leading efforts toward a peaceful resolution. He also thanked other international leaders for supporting diplomatic engagement during a volatile period. According to Barzani, their actions helped prevent a more destructive conflict.

The Iran-Israel ceasefire marks a critical turning point for regional diplomacy. Leaders across the Middle East have echoed Barzani’s call for dialogue. However, tensions remain high, and observers warn that the situation could change quickly.

Despite the ceasefire, skepticism lingers. Some officials accuse Iran of violating the agreement, while Iran firmly denies those claims. Still, Barzani’s message highlights a growing regional desire for calm. He encouraged all nations to commit to peace through dialogue and shared interests.

As the Iran-Israel ceasefire holds, many hope it signals a shift from confrontation to cooperation. Leaders like Barzani continue to push for open discussions. Only through inclusive diplomacy, he argues, can the region achieve real peace and prosperity. The coming days will test whether this fragile calm can evolve into lasting stability.
