American Diplomatic Presence Clarified Amid Regional Adjustments, Says Senior Iraqi Official

Baghdad – American diplomatic presence in the Middle East, including Iraq, remains firm and secure, according to a senior Iraqi official.

These reports claimed non-essential personnel were evacuated from the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad. However, the official made it clear this step forms part of a wider diplomatic strategy. It reflects regional procedural adjustments rather than specific threats within Iraq.

He emphasized that the move does not point to any local danger. In fact, he stressed that no credible security threats have emerged on the Iraqi side. Despite speculation, Iraq has not recorded any indicators that would justify such a withdrawal.

Additionally, the official reassured the public regarding national security. He confirmed that Iraq continues to experience a noticeable increase in stability. Internal security conditions have improved steadily. According to him, recent security briefings align with this trend.

Moreover, he pointed out that all diplomatic missions in Iraq operate without disruption. This includes Arab, Western, and international delegations. They enjoy the full freedom of movement, secure communications, and carry out diplomatic duties effectively.

Throughout the conversation, the senior official remained consistent in his message. He highlighted Iraq’s firm commitment to hosting diplomatic entities safely. Security forces remain vigilant and very responsive, ensuring safety in Baghdad and beyond.

Furthermore, the official called for calm and factual reporting. He urged media outlets to verify claims before spreading panic or misinformation. He stressed that regional policy shifts should not be confused with isolated national issues.

In closing, the official noted that Iraq stands as a stable partner in the region. He reiterated that the American diplomatic presence remains unaffected by rumors or external assumptions. Instead, Iraq continues to offer a safe and cooperative environment for all foreign missions. He also affirmed that the U.S. Embassy continues to operate normally with essential personnel fully engaged.
