Iraq Stresses Need to Boost Anti-Terror Defense

Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid met with Counter-Terrorism Chief General Karim Abboud al-Tamimi to discuss strengthening national security. The meeting focused on how Iraq can boost anti-terror defense and support the armed forces.

The president hosted the meeting at Baghdad Palace. He praised the Counter-Terrorism Service for its sacrifice and dedication to protecting Iraq and its people. The president stressed that stronger military readiness is essential to face future threats.

President Rashid called for continuous improvements in military capabilities. He highlighted the need to adopt modern research and training methods. He also emphasized the value of scientific studies in understanding and preventing extremism.

General al-Tamimi thanked the president for his support and guidance. He shared updates about the current operations of the Counter-Terrorism Service. The general explained the agency’s security and intelligence plans, focusing on efforts to secure long-term stability.

Both sides agreed that threats remain serious. However, they also expressed confidence in Iraq’s ability to respond. They pointed out that advanced strategies and strong leadership will ensure long-term safety.

The president believes Iraq must boost anti-terror defense to prevent any future attacks. He sees this as a national duty and a priority for peace and security.
