Rwanga Foundation Solar Energy Project Brings Clean Power to Gulek Village

The Rwanga Foundation solar energy project has successfully brought clean, reliable power to Gulek Village in Harir. This initiative reflects the foundation’s strong commitment to environmental protection and sustainable rural development.

As part of its latest green campaign, the Rwanga Foundation installed a complete solar power system for the village. The project covers 36 residential units, along with one mosque, a school, and a local event hall. In total, the system now benefits more than 200 residents.

Specifically, the newly installed infrastructure includes 195 high-efficiency solar panels, 156 energy storage batteries, and 39 power inverters. Collectively, these components deliver 535 amperes of renewable electricity to meet the daily needs of the village.

To celebrate the milestone, a special community ceremony marked the completion of the Rwanga Foundation solar energy project. Members of the foundation gathered with village residents to celebrate the occasion.

Interestingly, during the event, families expressed heartfelt gratitude and shared their joy at gaining access to modern, safe technology.

According to Rwanga Foundation officials, this solar initiative is part of a wider strategy to promote clean energy adoption in rural areas. The goal is to reduce carbon emissions, increase energy independence, and enhance quality of life.

Moreover, local leaders praised the project’s impact. They emphasized that solar energy reduces dependency on diesel generators and helps minimize environmental pollution in underserved regions.

The Rwanga Foundation solar energy project is one of several ongoing environmental efforts led by the organization. Rwanga continues to align its work with long-term sustainability goals and climate resilience in the Kurdistan Region.

In addition, the foundation sees educational opportunities linked to this initiative. Plans are underway to offer training on solar system maintenance and energy conservation practices.

Looking forward, Rwanga aims to expand similar clean energy projects to other remote communities. These future efforts will further support economic development, environmental awareness, and energy access for all.
