President Nechirvan Barzani’s Participation in Arab League Summit Highlights Kurdistan Region’s Federal Role

The participation of Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani in the Arab League Summit held in Baghdad marks a significant moment in Iraq’s federal landscape. According to a statement from Kurdish Presidency spokesperson Dilshad Shahab, Barzani’s presence underscores his active engagement in regional politics and confirms the Kurdistan Region’s growing role within the federal framework of Iraq. Shahab stated, “This visit confirms President Nechirvan Barzani’s active presence in regional dynamics and reflects the Kurdistan Region’s recognized position within the federal framework of Iraq.”

This year’s summit, hosted by Iraq for the first time in more than a decade, brings together Arab leaders and international delegates to confront major political, security, and economic issues facing the region. Barzani’s involvement is seen as both a diplomatic gesture and a reflection of the Kurdistan Region’s broader participation in national and regional affairs.
