In a significant step to solve grid congestion in West Baghdad, the Ministry of Electricity announced the opening of a major power station. The new development targets areas like Karkh and Fallujah, where electricity demand often exceeds supply. This expansion represents a crucial move in boosting the country’s energy stability.

The upgrade included installing a new autotransformer with a 250 MVA capacity. All related civil, mechanical, and electrical work was completed. Minister of Electricity Ziyad Ali Fadel led the station’s opening. He praised the engineering and technical teams who delivered the project. These teams work under the General Company for Electricity Transmission – Central Region. Their dedication and hard work played a key role in finishing the project on time and according to plan.
