Promoting Iraq as a Tourist Destination: Iraq Shines at Travel Market

Iraq proudly participated with an official pavilion at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) exhibition in Dubai. The Iraqi delegation showcased the country’s rich cultural heritage and vibrant tourism opportunities to visitors from around the globe.

The Iraqi pavilion, supervised by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities along with the Iraqi Tourism Authority, drew widespread admiration. Many visitors praised the unique design, which featured a stunning model of the ancient Babylonian Ishtar Gate.

The pavilion also hosted an elite group of travel and tourism companies from across Iraq. Several visitors from Arab and foreign countries explored Iraq’s offerings, showing great interest in its historical and cultural richness.

Haider Amer Al-Dujaili, head of the Association of Travel and Tourism Companies in Iraq, expressed his pride in the participation. He explained that promoting Iraq as a tourist destination remains a top priority for the association.

He emphasized that Iraq’s participation in this edition marked its fourth consecutive presence at the Arabian Travel Market. He pointed out that the exhibition ranks among the most significant tourism events in the Middle East and worldwide.

The exhibition brought together over 2,800 companies, with 17 percent from the Middle East and 83 percent from the rest of the world. Therefore, promoting Iraq as a tourist destination at such a major event strengthens Iraq’s presence on the international tourism map.

Al-Dujaili further explained that the goal was to highlight Iraq’s archaeological, religious, and cultural tourism sectors. He noted that strategic partnerships and cooperation agreements would help boost Iraq’s tourism industry.

Promoting Iraq as a tourist destination requires continued collaboration between Iraqi companies and their international counterparts. The delegation aimed to position Iraq as a must-visit place, rich with heritage and authentic experiences.

Ultimately, promoting Iraq as a tourist destination reflects a vision of connecting Iraq’s ancient wonders with modern tourism demands, inspiring travelers worldwide to rediscover the land of Mesopotamia.
