Transport Development in Baghdad Enhances City Connectivity

Transport development in Baghdad continues to progress with significant infrastructure projects aimed at improving urban mobility. The Ministry of Construction, Housing, and Public Municipalities has announced key advancements in road and bridge upgrades across the capital, designed to enhance connectivity and streamline daily transportation.

One major project making significant strides is the expansion of the Jadriyah Bridge and the Abu Nuwas area. The ministry has successfully connected the suspension bridge to a new two-level road system, which is a critical development in reducing traffic congestion and improving the flow of vehicles.

In addition to this, several other important projects are underway. In the municipalities’ district, construction teams are working on the second phase of development. This includes the courthouse intersection project, previously known as the General Security intersection. The first test pillar for the project has already been poured, indicating steady progress.

Furthermore, construction on the Karrada Bridge is an essential part of the transport development in Baghdad. This bridge will serve as a crucial link in the northern part of the city, connecting key roads such as the Army Canal and Mohammed Al-Qasim Road in Rusafa to the Kadhimiya district.

To support this connection, the Prime Minister has authorized the evacuation and conversion of the Al-Adala military camp into a civilian area. This transformation will create a new urban route, easing traffic and strengthening the link between Baghdad’s eastern and western regions.

The new road system will also provide easier access to Kadhimiya, a city that attracts many visitors throughout the year. The new routes will make travel to this holy area more efficient, making the Kadhimiya link a crucial element in the transport development in Baghdad.

As these projects reach completion, Baghdad’s infrastructure continues to improve, helping to meet the city’s growing needs. These ongoing efforts are transforming the capital into a more connected and modern urban environment, ultimately enhancing the quality of life for its residents and visitors. The transport development in Baghdad reflects a clear step forward in the city’s journey toward progress and improved mobility.
