Iraqi Federal Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein Joins Newroz Celebrations

Baghdad, Iraq – Iraq’s Federal Foreign Minister, Fuad Hussein, arrived in the Kurdistan Region to participate in the Newroz festivities, marking the Kurdish New Year and the arrival of spring. Upon landing at Erbil International Airport, Minister Hussein and his accompanying delegation were warmly welcomed by the Head of the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Department of Foreign Relations and his deputy.

In a show of hospitality and unity, the Head of the Foreign Relations Department spoke on behalf of the Prime Minister, expressing gratitude for the Iraqi Federal Government’s participation in the annual Newroz celebrations. He said, “Your participation in the Newroz and Kurdish New Year festivities alongside the people of Kurdistan is deeply appreciated. We hope you enjoy your time in the Kurdistan Region.”

Minister Hussein’s visit to the Kurdistan Region holds great significance, symbolizing not only the importance of Newroz for the Kurdish people but also the strengthening of ties between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the federal government of Iraq. The celebrations, which bring together a diverse group of officials and envoys, including ambassadors, heads of diplomatic missions, and representatives from international organizations, are a powerful reminder of the region’s resilience and cultural heritage.

Newroz is a time of renewal, hope, and unity for the Kurdish people, and this year’s festivities in Erbil emphasize the region’s ongoing cultural richness and the spirit of cooperation that transcends borders and backgrounds.
