Iraq and Egypt Strengthen Cooperation to Tackle Regional Challenges

Baghdad, Iraq – Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing Arab cooperation to address pressing regional challenges.

During the emergency Arab summit on Gaza reconstruction, held in Cairo, Rashid met with El-Sisi, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, and senior officials from the Egyptian Presidency. Discussions focused on strengthening bilateral ties and expanding joint efforts to benefit both nations.

The two leaders emphasized the importance of deeper collaboration across various sectors, reinforcing economic and political integration. They also addressed the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, expressing concern over the deteriorating situation and Israel’s failure to uphold its commitments under the truce agreement.

Both sides stressed the urgency of resuming negotiations, halting hostilities, protecting civilians, and ensuring unrestricted humanitarian aid. Their discussions highlighted a shared vision for regional stability and the need for coordinated action to achieve lasting peace.
