Iraq Advances Digital Transformation in Industrial Sector

Baghdad, Iraq- Iraq is making significant strides in digital transformation and industrial modernization through strengthened public-private partnerships. According to government officials, integrating digital industrial licensing and governance mechanisms is expected to enhance transparency, efficiency, and data-driven decision-making across various economic sectors.

Authorities have highlighted ongoing efforts to streamline trademark registration and industrial licensing via digital platforms. The transition to digital governance aims to improve disclosure and transparency, ensuring a seamless process for trademark registration and industrial investments.

Key aspects of Iraq’s digital economic strategy include advanced industrial data analytics, online consultancy services, and capacity-building programs. These initiatives are designed to equip businesses with modern technological tools, enhancing their global competitiveness in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

Officials emphasize the role of digital governance in driving industrial growth, with the adoption of international technological standards expected to attract high-value investments and promote research and development. This approach is seen as vital to strengthening Iraq’s position in the digital industrial sector.

As part of its economic vision, the government aims to increase the private sector’s contribution to GDP from the current 37% to approximately 53% within the next decade. This expansion is expected to diversify the economy, boost industrial investments, and reduce unemployment to around 4%.

Additionally, industrial cities along Iraq’s “Development Road” project will integrate digital infrastructure to accelerate commercial and industrial licensing. These zones are intended to serve as hubs of industrial modernization, fostering seamless digital integration to enhance manufacturing capabilities and Iraq’s global economic standing.
