Young Kurdish-Iraqi Designer Shines at Milan Fashion Week

Milan Fashion Week, showcasing women’s wear for fall and winter 2025/2026, features a talented Kurdish designer. Darko Idris, a 22-year-old from Sulaymaniyah, presents his bridal fashion collection at this prestigious event. He participates alongside three other designers specializing in this field.

Young Kurdish designer shines at Milan Fashion Week with his unique collection. Idris, a fourth-year medical student, takes great pride in his participation. He stated, “I am the first person from Kurdistan and Iraq to join this event.”

His collection includes 15 designs inspired by Kurdish culture and traditions. He incorporates cultural elements to highlight the region’s identity in global fashion. He believes Kurdish creativity has a place in high fashion, especially in bridal wear.

Young Kurdish designer shines at Milan Fashion Week after submitting 500 designs for consideration. He shared his excitement about the opportunity. “Many designers submit their work, but only a few receive approval. My young age also attracted attention,” he explained.

Milan Fashion Week remains one of the world’s most important fashion events. Alongside Paris, London, and New York Fashion Weeks, it defines global fashion trends.

The fashion world eagerly anticipates Idris’s unique designs. His participation marks a significant achievement for Kurdish representation in the industry.
