Baghdad, Iraq- Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani has received an official invitation from the President of Serbia to visit Belgrade. This came during a meeting on Tuesday with Branislav Žeželj, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Serbia to Iraq, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Media Office.
The statement highlighted that during their discussions, Prime Minister Al-Sudani was also invited to participate in Expo 2027, which will be hosted by Serbia. The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries and enhancing cooperation across multiple sectors to benefit both nations.
Prime Minister Al-Sudani reiterated Iraq’s willingness to expand cooperation with Serbia and encouraged Serbian companies to invest in Iraq, particularly in infrastructure projects, through various investment opportunities currently available. He also emphasized the need for better coordination between the investment authorities of both countries and proposed the establishment of an Iraqi-Serbian Business Council to foster collaboration between the private sectors of the two nations.
