Kataib Sayyid Al-Shuhada Condemns Attack on Barzani

Kataib Sayyid Al-Shuhada condemns the attack on President Barzani’s residence, calling it an unacceptable and provocative act. Moreover, the group emphasized that such actions contradict the conduct expected from armed resistance factions.

The group’s Secretary-General, Abu Alaa Al-Walai, praised Barzani as a measured political figure. He highlighted Barzani’s efforts to build constructive ties with multiple parties through personal conduct and dialogue. Consequently, the attack undermines efforts toward regional stability.

Al-Walai pointed to the timing of the strike, which followed a similar incident targeting PMF Chief Falih Al-Fayyadh’s residence. He suggested that these attacks may reflect external pressure or political signaling. Furthermore, he linked the strike to Barzani’s firm stance against any facilitation for Iranian opposition groups to launch hostile activities from Iraqi Kurdish territory.

Political forces across Iraq condemned the incident. They described it as a serious escalation that threatens national stability. Additionally, international actors voiced concern and called for accountability. They stressed the need for measures to prevent further attacks.

Kataib Sayyid Al-Shuhada’s condemnation of the attack reiterates the group’s position on maintaining security and respecting political norms. The organization urged all factions to avoid actions that could provoke conflict. Meanwhile, it encouraged coordination between Baghdad and Erbil to strengthen oversight.

The incident raises broader concerns about regional security and political tensions in Iraq. Analysts noted that targeting political leaders can destabilize internal governance and affect cross-regional relations. Therefore, preventive measures and transparent investigations remain crucial.

Abu Alaa Al-Walai emphasized that respecting political leaders and civilian safety is vital. Moreover, he stressed that attacks against figures like Barzani threaten Iraq’s unity and democratic processes. Consequently, Kataib Sayyid Al-Shuhada called for accountability for the perpetrators.

In conclusion, Kataib Sayyid Al-Shuhada condemns the attack on President Barzani, highlighting the need for justice and political stability. Immediate measures are necessary to protect leaders, prevent escalation, and safeguard Iraqi national security.
