Israeli Aggression Against Iran Must End, Says Iraqi Foreign Ministry

Baghdad – Israeli aggression against Iran continues to raise alarm across the region. On Saturday, the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a strong statement. It called for an immediate end to ongoing attacks on Iranian territory.

The statement followed a high-level meeting in Istanbul. Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein met with his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araqchi. Both officials attended the 51st session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

During the meeting, the ministers reviewed critical developments. These included the humanitarian crisis caused by continued strikes. They also discussed the threat to regional peace and the possibility of the conflict spreading.

Minister Hussein urged an end to the Israeli aggression against Iran. He emphasized the need to protect civilians and avoid further destruction. According to him, military escalation serves no productive purpose.

Instead, he called for renewed diplomatic efforts. He stressed the importance of international and regional cooperation. Iraq believes that returning to political dialogue is essential. Only negotiations can prevent further suffering and instability.

In addition, both ministers explored ways to improve bilateral relations. They discussed deeper cooperation between Iraq and Iran. Hussein highlighted the importance of ongoing dialogue based on mutual respect.

The statement also noted shared concerns over security. Both sides agreed that diplomacy must replace confrontation. Minister Hussein urged all nations to avoid actions that increase tensions. He stated that Iraq remains committed to peace and regional stability.

Moreover, the Iraqi Foreign Ministry repeated its call for immediate global action. It warned that Israeli aggression against Iran risks dragging the region into wider war. Such a path would have devastating consequences.

Finally, Iraq urged the global community to act responsibly. The statement highlighted the role of diplomacy in solving crises. Baghdad believes peace is still possible—but only if aggressive tactics end now.

As the violence continues, Iraq stands firm. The government insists that Israeli aggression against Iran must stop. Leaders across the region must choose peace, not escalation.
