Iraq World Cup Qualifiers: Team Faces Jordan in Final Group Match Before Playoffs

Baghdad – The Iraq World Cup qualifiers campaign continues as the national team prepares to face Jordan in their final group-stage match. Iraq will wear their traditional green kits, while Jordan will appear in white. This was confirmed during the pre-match technical meeting held in Amman, the Jordanian capital.

Set for Tuesday at Amman International Stadium, the game marks the end of Group B action. Although Iraq missed out on direct qualification, the team secured third place with 12 points. As a result, they will move on to the playoff round. Officials have not yet released full details about that next stage.

Despite the disappointment, Iraq World Cup qualifiers hopes remain alive. The team’s recent 2-0 home loss to South Korea ended their bid for automatic qualification. That result allowed South Korea and Jordan to take the top two spots in the group.

Following the loss, Iraqi Football Association President Adnan Darjal issued a public apology. He expressed regret for the performance but reassured fans. Darjal vowed that the team would return stronger in the playoff round. His words signaled a renewed commitment to success on the road to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

During the pre-match technical session, officials also discussed final logistics and matchday procedures. They reviewed stadium access, kit selections, and team coordination. These steps aim to ensure a smooth and fair contest between the two sides.

While the path to the tournament has become tougher, the Iraq World Cup qualifiers dream is far from over. Fans across Iraq remain hopeful. The playoff round now represents a crucial opportunity for redemption and momentum.

In conclusion, Iraq faces a critical moment in their World Cup journey. The upcoming clash against Jordan could set the tone for their playoff campaign. With national pride on the line, players and supporters alike look ahead with determination.
