Iraq signs $100 million deal with Hyundai Everdigm for firefighting fleet

Iraq Hyundai firefighting deal marks a major step in strengthening the country’s emergency response system. The Ministry of Interior signed a $100 million agreement with South Korea’s Hyundai Everdigm.

This deal will modernize firefighting operations across Iraq and improve public safety nationwide.

The contract includes advanced firefighting equipment, such as aerial ladder trucks, pump trucks, and rescue vehicles. It also covers water tankers and other specialist systems. According to the ministry, deliveries will begin in the second half of 2025.

These additions will significantly expand Iraq’s ability to respond quickly to emergencies.

Moreover, Iraq Hyundai firefighting deal aligns with Iraq’s larger vision to modernize infrastructure. Current national projects span transport, electricity, and public safety.

Together, these investments aim to build resilience, enhance services, and restore trust in public institutions. The new firefighting fleet demonstrates the government’s determination to prioritize safety after years of neglect.

In addition, Hyundai Everdigm highlighted the reliability of its technology. The company noted that this partnership strengthens its growing presence in the Middle East.

Known as one of Korea’s leading manufacturers of safety and firefighting systems, Hyundai Everdigm sees Iraq as a key regional market.

Furthermore, this deal enhances cooperation between Iraq and South Korea. It opens opportunities for more projects that combine international expertise with Iraq’s urgent development needs.

By securing high-quality equipment, Iraq also reassures citizens that emergency preparedness remains a government priority.

Officials emphasize that modern equipment is not just about technology but also about protecting lives. The new fleet will help firefighters tackle challenges in both urban and rural areas.

From high-rise fires to industrial accidents, the expanded resources will boost readiness across the country.

Ultimately, Iraq Hyundai firefighting deal signals a forward-looking approach. It blends international partnerships with Iraq’s domestic priorities.

With stronger emergency response tools, Iraq takes a decisive step toward safer communities and sustainable national progress.
