Iraq Prime Minister Highlights Opportunities for Collaboration with UAE in Aviation Sector

Baghdad – Iraq’s Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, expressed his country’s readiness to collaborate with the UAE in the aviation sector during a meeting with Saif Al-Suwaidi, Director-General of the UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority. The discussion also included Iraq’s Minister of Construction and Housing, along with the chairman of the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority (ICAA), Benkin Rekani.

Al-Sudani emphasized the government’s commitment to developing Iraq’s aviation and air transport industry, recognizing its crucial role in supporting the growth of tourism and broader economic development. He highlighted the opportunity to further strengthen Iraq’s capabilities in the sector, aligning with the country’s ongoing progress.

Al-Suwaidi, in turn, acknowledged Iraq’s strategic position as a vital air link between the East and West, positioning it as an essential hub for regional and global integration in the aviation network. He also expressed the UAE’s eagerness to foster deeper collaboration with Iraq in civil aviation and air transportation.
