Iraq Reaffirms Commitment to Strengthening Cooperation with the United States

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein reaffirmed Iraq’s dedication to strengthening cooperation with the United States. His remarks came during a meeting held Thursday with U.S. Chargé d’Affaires, Ambassador Stephen Fagin, in Baghdad.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign, the meeting covered key political and economic matters. First, the two officials discussed the ongoing political situation in Iraq. In particular, they focused on the relationship between Baghdad and the Kurdistan Regional Government.

Moreover, they explored financial challenges facing both administrations. These include issues related to the management of oil resources in the Kurdistan Region. They also reviewed the status of American companies operating within the region.

During the talks, Fuad Hussein emphasized the importance of realistic and balanced solutions. He stressed that all outcomes must ensure fair distribution of national resources. According to him, these solutions should serve the overall interests of Iraq.

In addition, the minister reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with the United States of America. He noted that this partnership plays a vital role in promoting political stability. It also supports Iraq’s ongoing efforts to achieve long-term economic growth.

Furthermore, both sides agreed on the need to enhance dialogue and coordination. They acknowledged the shared responsibility of managing economic and political challenges. The minister explained that Iraq views its relationship with the United States as strategic.

Importantly, Fuad Hussein highlighted that strengthening cooperation with the United States aligns with Iraq’s national interests. This partnership contributes to regional stability and reinforces diplomatic ties between the two nations.
