The Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces has directed the formation of a specialized security team to track down those responsible for a recent act of violence against Syrian workers in Iraq. This decision follows the circulation of a disturbing video on social media, showing a masked group engaging in violent acts against the workers.
In a statement from the spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Sabah Al-Numan, it was revealed that the group in the video identified itself as part of a faction calling itself “Ya Ali Popular Formations.” Al-Numan condemned these actions, calling them “heinous” and stating they were completely contrary to Iraqi values and morals.
The Prime Minister, alongside the Commander-in-Chief, swiftly ordered the creation of a specialized team to investigate and hold accountable those involved in this violence. “This criminal act violates all human and moral values and infringes on human dignity and rights, regardless of nationality or affiliation,” Al-Numan said.
The spokesperson also reiterated Iraq’s strong ties with Syria, emphasizing the brotherhood between the two nations. He assured the public that the law would be strictly enforced against those responsible, promising no leniency or discrimination in the pursuit of justice. This move underscores Iraq’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring the safety and security of all people within its borders.
