In the holy city of Karbala, a large cultural festival captured the attention of many attendees. The event featured a powerful theatrical performance titled Al-Mahshar (The Gathering). The performance explored themes of life beyond the grave and the human journey after burial.

The Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) organized this significant cultural gathering. According to Muhammad Abdul Hadi, the head of the PMF office in Karbala, the festival delivered a message that combined spirituality with reality. He explained that the theatrical play showcased the world after death, portraying what happens to the soul after leaving this world.
He emphasized the importance of this initiative as part of a broader cultural and awareness campaign. Two years ago, the PMF launched another play titled The Resurrection of the Earth. Both projects aim to demonstrate that the PMF extends beyond military functions. They serve the country in various fields, including healthcare and social awareness, especially during crises.

Assistant director Ali Al-Mousawi shared more about the play’s concept. He said the story revolves around a character named Karrar, who suffers a fatal accident. After his death and burial, Karrar witnesses his life’s deeds — both good and bad — unfold before him. The audience experiences his judgment as he faces the world after death.
The performance deeply explored themes of divine justice and the consequences of human actions. Through vivid scenes, the play illustrated the rewards for good deeds and the punishments for evil ones. It also highlighted the honored status of martyrs in the hereafter, emphasizing sacrifice and valor.
By blending art and faith, the event offered a meaningful reflection on human morality. The PMF used the stage to convey essential values in a dramatic and emotional way. The play left a lasting impression on the audience, reminding them of the world after death and the eternal importance of their actions.
