PM Al-Sudani Discusses Government’s Efforts to Boost Citizen Confidence and Regional Stability

Baghdad, Iraq – Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani emphasized today that the government’s program has been designed to strengthen citizen confidence in the political system and ensure the country’s stability.

During a dialogue session with the StrategyX Center, attended by researchers, diplomats, and experts from several nations, Al-Sudani outlined the government’s commitment to addressing key national issues. The meeting, which was held in Baghdad, coincided with a series of important events, including the Arab Ministers of Youth and Sports meetings, the opening of the Baghdad International Fair, and the announcement of Baghdad as the Arab Tourism Capital for 2025 and the Arab Capital of Sports Culture.

In his opening remarks, the Prime Minister welcomed the international guests, noting that these events reflect the vitality of Baghdad and the government’s commitment to fostering openness and stability across Iraq. He pointed out that many Arab and foreign delegations arrive with preconceived negative impressions of Iraq, shaped by distorted media portrayals, but often leave with a much more positive view after experiencing the country firsthand.

Al-Sudani acknowledged that his government was formed at a time when there was a noticeable reluctance to participate in elections and a decline in trust in Iraq’s political system. However, he stressed that the government has worked to regain public confidence by ensuring that its program addresses the core needs of the Iraqi people. “The government program was designed to enhance citizens’ confidence and, as a result, we have made significant progress in achieving our objectives,” he said.

The discussion during the seminar focused on several critical areas, including the sustainability of stability in Iraq, strategies for sustainable development, and tackling issues such as poverty and unemployment. The dialogue also touched on Iraq’s economic outlook, regional relations, and the government’s achievements in these sectors.

Al-Sudani’s remarks highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts to stabilize the country and foster growth, underscoring its dedication to overcoming challenges and building a brighter future for Iraqis.
