Stop War Escalation: Iraq and France Urge Global Action

Baghdad – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein stressed the urgent need to stop war escalation during a phone call with his French counterpart, Jean-Noël Barrot. They discussed the recent attack on Iran and its dangerous impact on regional security.

The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs shared this information with the Iraqi News Agency. Both ministers agreed the current situation is highly concerning. They warned that continued fighting could lead to serious humanitarian and economic crises across the region.

Moreover, they called on the international community to act swiftly to halt all military operations. Both sides expressed concern that the conflict could escalate further, involving additional countries and creating wider instability.

In addition, they emphasized that such escalation would threaten global peace and security. Both ministers stressed that international cooperation is critical to stop the conflict from spreading. They urged all nations to prioritize peaceful solutions.

Furthermore, both officials agreed that diplomacy offers the best path forward. They highlighted the importance of coordinating international efforts and supporting negotiations as the optimal way to avoid further harm.

Fuad Hussein specifically called on European countries, especially France, the United Kingdom, and Germany, to play a more direct and effective role. He urged these nations to work for an immediate ceasefire and a return to dialogue.

The Iraqi minister underscored that diplomatic engagement remains the key to resolving the crisis. Consequently, he stressed the urgent need to stop war escalation to maintain stability both regionally and globally.

He also warned that failure to act quickly could plunge the region into deeper chaos and more devastating conflicts. The ministers agreed that preventing further violence is critical for the security of all parties involved.

In a statement, Fuad Hussein said, “The region cannot bear the consequences of further conflict. We call on all parties to come together and embrace dialogue. War only brings destruction; peace offers hope.”

Both Iraq and France expressed their commitment to continue working closely. They will push for international support to end hostilities and protect civilians caught in the crisis
