Iraq’s Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani announced on Saturday that his government will provide $40 million in reconstruction aid to Gaza and Lebanon following their respective conflicts with Israel. The statement came during the Arab League summit hosted in Baghdad, where Sudani addressed regional leaders and reaffirmed Iraq’s commitment to supporting stability and recovery across the Arab world.
Sudani called for the establishment of an “Arab fund to support reconstruction efforts” in areas devastated by war and crisis. He confirmed Iraq’s contribution would be equally divided, with $20 million allocated to rebuilding war-torn Gaza and another $20 million directed toward Lebanon’s reconstruction. The announcement was seen as a strong gesture of solidarity with nations heavily affected by recent conflicts and a call for broader Arab cooperation in regional recovery efforts.
