Iraq Welcomes Ceasefire Between India and Pakistan, Calls for Continued Dialogue

Baghdad – The Republic of Iraq has voiced strong support for the recent ceasefire between India and Pakistan. On Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed Iraq’s endorsement of this positive development. Iraqi officials view this decision as a meaningful gesture toward peace and stability in South Asia.

The Ministry emphasized that dialogue builds lasting peace. Iraq praised both nations for choosing diplomacy over conflict. Leaders from Baghdad described the agreement as a wise and responsible move that reflects a shared desire to reduce tensions.

Moreover, Iraq appreciated the efforts that led to this agreement. These efforts show a growing willingness to prioritize unity and cooperation. Officials stated that this ceasefire could pave the way for mutual trust and long-term understanding.

According to the Ministry, real peace requires more than a ceasefire. Permanent stability depends on commitment to negotiation and respect for international laws. Iraq believes that nations must focus on collaboration, not confrontation.

Additionally, the Foreign Ministry expressed hope for concrete actions following the ceasefire. These steps should promote peaceful coexistence and protect civilians from further suffering. Dialogue builds lasting peace, Iraqi officials repeated, urging both sides to seize this opportunity.

Regional cooperation, they added, benefits not just the countries involved but the entire region. Iraq urged India and Pakistan to remain on the path of diplomacy. Iraqi leaders highlighted the potential for economic growth and security if peace continues.

They also stressed that this moment could lead to greater regional integration. Leaders must now invest in rebuilding ties, not just halting violence. Through diplomacy, countries can achieve mutual progress and shared prosperity.

In closing, Iraq reiterated its hope for continued peace efforts in South Asia. With responsible leadership, long-standing disputes can turn into new partnerships. Dialogue builds lasting peace, and Iraq remains committed to supporting that vision.
