Iraq’s Taurus Energy and GE Partner to Boost Power Production in Sulaymaniyah

Baghdad – Taurus Energy of Iraq and General Electric (GE) have signed a significant agreement aimed at enhancing energy production at the Bazian Power Station in Sulaymaniyah. This collaboration is expected to add 1,250 MW of electricity to Iraq’s national grid by the first quarter of 2026, marking a major milestone in the country’s energy sector.

The agreement was signed in the presence of Qubad Talabani, the Deputy Prime Minister of Iraqi Kurdistan, who expressed his pride in seeing global companies joining forces with local businesses to foster development. He also highlighted that Sulaymaniyah continues to lead Iraq in attracting investment.
