KRG PM Congratulates Al-Sudani on Re-election as Al-Furatain Movement Secretary General

Baghdad – Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani extended his congratulations to Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani on his re-election as the Secretary General of the Al-Furatain Movement during the party’s recent conference. In his message, Barzani expressed his hope that the conference’s outcomes and recommendations would serve as a strong catalyst to address the needs and demands of citizens within the framework of a federal Iraq.

The Al-Furatain Movement, which is led by Iraq’s Prime Minister Al-Sudani, is recognized as a centrist and reform-oriented political party. The movement secured three seats in the 2021 parliamentary elections, marking its presence in Iraq’s political landscape.

With Iraq’s upcoming parliamentary elections set for November 11, 2025, the re-election of Al-Sudani and the Al-Furatain Movement’s continued role in the political arena is seen as a significant development as the country prepares for the next phase of its democratic process.
