Digital Media Creates Change in Nineveh

A workshop was held in Nineveh to highlight how digital media creates change. The Higher Judicial Council supported the event, which focused on empowering content creators and influencers. Participants explored ways to improve public awareness through social media platforms.

Judge Ahmad Muhammad Ali Al-Huraithi, Deputy Head of the Nineveh Court of Appeals, explained the goals behind the workshop. He stressed that digital media has become more influential than traditional outlets. He pointed out that social media now reaches far more people than newspapers or TV channels.

According to Al-Huraithi, digital media creates change by shaping public thought and behavior. The council wants to work with civil society organizations to create social impact. He urged civil groups to collaborate with state institutions to address community needs more effectively.

He also shared why the event was hosted by Al-Khaima Foundation, noting its role in supporting journalism. The chosen venue, named after the late journalist Wathiq Al-Ghadhanfar, honored his national service.

The workshop aimed to spark a long-term project to support educational and awareness-focused content online. It encouraged creators to adopt more socially responsible approaches. These efforts will help users create purposeful and respectful content on various platforms.

Shawq Ali, head of Basma Group, praised the initiative. She noted the event’s value lies in its focus on real community issues. She also emphasized how local influencers can play a key role in raising awareness.

Content creator Ibrahim Al-Shabbabi shared his experience. He appreciated the advice offered during the sessions. He also pledged to apply these lessons in his future videos and messages.

Eyad Al-Khalidi, another content creator, spoke about his comedic TikTok content. He shared how the event inspired all attendees to create more positive and meaningful videos.

Khalid Al-Nuaimi, also an influencer, praised the unique experience of the workshop. He described Nineveh as a city rich in culture and history. He acknowledged that creators often make spontaneous content, sometimes with minor mistakes. However, he felt the training provided valuable tips that will greatly improve their work.

Overall, the event proved that digital media creates change by educating and empowering creators in Iraq.
