Iraqi Parliamentary Delegation Visits Turkey

Baghdad, Iraq – A delegation from the Iraqi Parliament, led by MP Jabbar al-Kinani, the head of the Iraqi-Turkish Friendship Committee, arrived in Ankara on Tuesday for an official visit aimed at enhancing parliamentary cooperation with Türkiye. The visit is a response to an invitation from MP Muhammad Mufid Aydin, head of the Turkish-Iraqi Friendship Committee in the Turkish Parliament.

Upon arrival in Ankara, the Iraqi delegation was welcomed by MP Farouk Qalaj, a member of the Turkish-Iraqi Friendship Committee, alongside the Iraqi Ambassador to Turkey, Majid al-Lajmawi.

The delegation’s visit includes an official meeting scheduled for Tuesday at the Turkish Parliament, where both sides are expected to discuss a range of key issues. A primary focus of the talks will be strengthening parliamentary and political cooperation between Iraq and Türkiye. The two parties also plan to explore ways to further develop relations between the legislative bodies in Baghdad and Ankara, marking a significant step towards deeper collaboration between the two nations.
