The country scored 71.5 out of 100, positioning it 6th among Arab nations in terms of pollution levels. In the Arab world, Lebanon recorded the highest pollution level, with a score of 89.4, followed by Egypt (82.7), Jordan (77.1), Syria (74.9), and Bahrain (71.6). Iraq, with its score of 71.5, ranks just behind Bahrain, reflecting the increasing pollution challenges the region faces due to rapid urbanization, industrial activities, and conflicts that have exacerbated environmental degradation.

On the global scale, Cameroon was ranked as the most polluted country, scoring 93.7. At the other end of the spectrum, Finland and Iceland were ranked as the least polluted countries globally, with scores of 11.8 and 16, respectively.
