Baghdad, Iraq- On Tuesday, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani highlighted the crucial need for continued cooperation and integration between Iraq’s executive and legislative authorities. He stressed that this collaboration is essential to addressing the country’s challenges and accelerating the development of key productive sectors.
During a meeting with Sayyed Ammar Al-Hakim, the head of the National Wisdom Movement, Al-Sudani reviewed the current state of affairs, the progress of implementing the government’s program, and the strategic development projects underway. The discussions focused on fulfilling the aspirations of citizens across all regions of Iraq, particularly in moving forward with stalled service projects and revitalizing provincial councils. The goal is to push the country’s development agenda forward and enhance the national economy.
Al-Sudani reiterated the importance of ongoing collaboration between the executive and legislative bodies in tackling Iraq’s challenges. He emphasized the need to accelerate the development of sectors beyond oil, especially agriculture, industry, and services, to create new job opportunities. He also highlighted the necessity of managing oil wealth effectively while maximizing the resources of Iraq’s other sectors.
In response, Sayyed Al-Hakim commended Iraq’s success in hosting several significant international and regional events. He noted that these events reflect Iraq’s growing stability, security, and its openness to economic partnerships. He also pointed to the role of regional integration in fostering sustainable development and reinforcing the stability of the wider region.
