Prime Minister Supports Young Environmental Pioneers Initiative with Tree Planting at Mustansiriya University

Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani took a visible step today to show his commitment to environmental progress. He planted a sapling in the Mustansiriya University garden, standing firmly behind the Young Environmental Pioneers Initiative.

Students, officials, and media gathered as the Prime Minister personally dug the soil and planted the young tree. He emphasized the importance of action, not just words, when tackling environmental challenges. His involvement sent a clear message to Iraqi youth: the environment matters.

The Prime Minister’s Media Office confirmed this event through an official statement. According to the release, al-Sudani’s participation underscores government support for youth-led environmental campaigns. He chose Mustansiriya University to set an example for academic institutions nationwide.

While this act wasn’t just symbolic. It was a call to action. Additionally, The Prime Minister encouraged every Iraqi to plant at least one tree this year. With rising temperatures and worsening climate conditions, local efforts have never been more urgent.
