Baghdad – President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid extended his congratulations to the Christian community on the occasion of Easter, emphasizing the importance of peaceful coexistence, equality, and justice under the Iraqi constitution.
The President attended Easter Mass on Saturday at the ‘Our Lady of Salvation’ Church in Baghdad. He was joined by Secretary-General of the Babylonian Movement Rayan Al-Kaldani and Minister of Migration and Displacement Evan Faeq Jabro, according to a statement from the Presidency’s Media Office.
During the celebration, President Rashid conveyed his warmest wishes to Christians and their families, hoping the holiday brings peace, goodness, and love. He reiterated the significance of maintaining harmony among Iraq’s diverse communities and upholding the values guaranteed by the constitution.
Archbishop Mor Aphrem Yousif Abba, head of the Syriac Catholic Archdiocese of Baghdad and its Dependencies, praised the President’s ongoing support for all religious and ethnic groups in Iraq. He highlighted Rashid’s dedication to strengthening unity, brotherhood, and national solidarity.
