Iraq’s Prime Minister Extends Eid Wishes to Syrian President, Emphasizes Cooperation

Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani extended his Eid al-Fitr greetings to President Ahmed Al-Shara’ of Syria.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s media office, which was shared with the Iraqi News Agency, during their phone conversation, Prime Minister Al-Sudani congratulated the Syrian people on the formation of their new government. He reiterated Iraq’s strong support for the choices of the Syrian people.

The statement further noted that the Prime Minister emphasized the need for the political process in Syria to be inclusive of all national groups and to promote peaceful coexistence and social stability. He stressed that this approach is essential for ensuring a secure and stable future for both Syria and the broader region.

Additionally, Prime Minister Al-Sudani reaffirmed Iraq’s firm stance against foreign incursions into Syrian territory and reiterated Iraq’s support for Syria’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. He also highlighted the importance of cooperation in combating the threat of ISIS and fostering economic collaboration, pointing to the shared opportunities and common interests between the two nations.
