Iraq Pledges Support for Efforts to End Yemen Conflict and Achieve Regional Stability

Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein confirmed Iraq’s commitment to supporting international efforts aimed at ending the ongoing conflict in Yemen, while striving for development and stability for the Yemeni people.

Hussein made the remarks during a meeting with Aidros Al-Zubaidi, Vice President of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

The two leaders discussed the strengthening of bilateral ties between Iraq and Yemen, particularly in political and economic cooperation. They also addressed the broader efforts being made to resolve the crisis in Yemen, acknowledging its significant impact on regional security and stability.

Additionally, the conversation touched on regional developments, particularly the situation in Syria. Both sides emphasized the need for sustained international and regional efforts to find lasting solutions that can ensure peace and stability across the region.

Minister Hussein expressed pride in the longstanding historical relationship between Iraq and Yemen, reiterating Iraq’s readiness to play an active role in the international community’s efforts to resolve the conflict and foster stability in Yemen.

Al-Zubaidi, in response, commended Iraq’s significant contributions to enhancing regional security and its ongoing support for peace initiatives across the region.
