Hayan Abdul-Ghani Al-Sawad, Iraq’s Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil, announced on Thursday that 2025 will see a rise in oil derivatives production.
During the first meeting of the Opinion Board for 2025, Al-Sawad emphasized the ministry’s commitment to boosting production capacities within the refining sector. He highlighted that this year will bring a significant increase in oil derivatives output, driven by several ongoing projects, including the FCC project at the Southern Refineries Company, which is considered a major step forward in refining operations.
The meeting also reviewed key agenda topics and made important decisions aimed at advancing the gas, refining, extraction, and distribution sectors. The session was attended by members of the Opinion Authority, along with agents, consultants, and senior officials from various oil sector companies and departments.
