Baghdad, Iraq – National Security Adviser Qasim Al-Araji met with Jorgen Lindström, the Chargé d’Affairs of the Swedish Embassy in Baghdad, on Monday. The discussion centered on the potential reopening of the Swedish Embassy in Iraq. The goal is to strengthen the longstanding relationship between the two countries.
During the meeting, which also included Anders Wiberg, the Head of the European Union Advisory Mission in Iraq, the officials explored avenues to deepen cooperation between Iraq and Sweden. They discussed various areas of mutual interest, focusing on developing and enhancing their partnership. This will be done with the aim of promoting the common benefits of both nations.
In addition to diplomatic relations, the talks also covered the current security situation in the region, especially in Syria. Both parties expressed their commitment to making every effort to reopen the Swedish Embassy, which will further strengthen the bonds of friendship and partnership.
