Sudani Rewards World Cup Heroes with Homes, Diplomatic Passports, and National Honors

Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani hosted a grand ceremony on April 4, 2026, to celebrate Iraq’s historic World Cup qualification. Moreover, he praised the team for uniting the nation during challenging times. The event included players, coaches, administrative staff, and their families. Furthermore, it highlighted the government’s recognition of the team’s extraordinary achievements.

Sudani Rewards World Cup Heroes, he declared, reflects the state’s gratitude for their dedication. In addition, the Prime Minister unveiled an eight-point rewards package to honor the players and staff. First, the government will provide luxury residential homes at the Al-Rafeel Complex near Baghdad International Airport. These homes feature modern designs and emphasize comfort for the players’ families. Second, all team members will receive diplomatic passports, granting them privileges and recognition abroad.

Third, Sudani announced the issuance of a commemorative postage stamp to mark Iraq’s historic victory. Meanwhile, the government plans to build a national panorama along the Abu Nuwas Corniche, listing the names of all players and the date of the achievement. Furthermore, a major road in Baghdad and provincial capitals will officially become “Lions of Mesopotamia Street.”

Fourth, dedicated museum exhibits will open at the Iraq Football Association, Sports City, and the Government Palace Museum, displaying jerseys, photos, and historic artifacts. Fifth, this year’s graduation class at public and private universities will be named the “Lions of Mesopotamia Class,” inspiring students nationwide to pursue excellence. Sixth, a national anthem and music video featuring famous Iraqi artists will commemorate the team’s success.

Sudani emphasized that these rewards go beyond material gifts. They symbolize national unity, perseverance, and pride. As a result, the initiative aims to inspire millions of Iraqis while preserving the team’s legacy for future generations. Observers hailed the announcement as one of Iraq’s most comprehensive sports recognition programs.

In conclusion, Sudani Rewards World Cup Heroes not only honors athletic achievement but also strengthens patriotism, education, and cultural pride. Moreover, it highlights Iraq’s ability to celebrate unity through sports, inspiring citizens across the nation.
