Baghdad, Iraq- Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, issued directives regarding an incident on the outskirts of Kirkuk where farmers were prevented from carrying out their work. The Prime Minister has taken swift action to address the matter.
The Prime Minister directed the Joint Operations Command to establish a high-level investigative committee, which will include representatives from all relevant parties. This committee is tasked with investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident that led to the farmers being stopped from working.
Additionally, al-Sudani instructed the Deputy Minister of Justice to travel to Kirkuk and address issues related to lands of common interest between the federal government and the Kurdistan Region.
In his directives, al-Sudani emphasized the need for all security forces—including the army, interior ministry, Peshmerga forces, Popular Mobilization Forces, and intelligence agencies—to adhere to laws and directives. He called for the forces to act with self-control, wisdom, and patriotism, and cautioned against allowing opportunists to exploit the situation.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister urged political parties and forces to maintain calmness and wisdom, prioritizing national interests, upholding the law and constitution, and supporting security forces in preserving the country’s stability and security gains. He highlighted the importance of unity and cooperation in securing the nation’s shared goals.
