Iraq Supports Palestine Amid Escalating Gaza Crisis

On Monday, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani met with Palestinian Ambassador Ahmad Rwaidy in Baghdad. The leaders discussed the worsening crisis in Gaza and the West Bank. The meeting focused on humanitarian conditions and regional responses to the ongoing violence.

According to a statement from Al-Sudani’s office, both sides addressed the situation in the occupied territories. They condemned military operations that continue to impact civilians in Gaza. The Prime Minister emphasized Iraq’s firm support for the Palestinian people during this period of suffering.

He reiterated that Iraq supports Palestine politically and publicly. Al-Sudani strongly criticized the global response to Israel’s military actions. He said the international community has failed to stop civilian deaths and daily violence. In particular, he condemned the starvation of civilians, including children and women.

Moreover, Al-Sudani mentioned Iraq’s ongoing efforts to send humanitarian aid to Gaza. He noted that Iraqi aid missions continue despite barriers imposed by Israeli occupation forces. These initiatives reflect the government’s moral and political stance, he said.

Throughout the discussion, both parties stressed the urgent need for international action. Al-Sudani called for immediate steps to stop the bloodshed and ease humanitarian suffering. He added that silence from the world only deepens the crisis and encourages more aggression.

In response, Ambassador Rwaidy thanked Iraq for its consistent and strong position. He expressed appreciation for Iraq’s condemnation of what he called genocide. He also praised Baghdad’s ongoing diplomatic and humanitarian efforts.

Ambassador Rwaidy said Iraq’s role remains vital in shaping regional solidarity. According to him, Arab and Islamic countries must follow Iraq’s example. He urged others to offer similar aid and support to the Palestinian cause.

In closing, Al-Sudani reaffirmed that Iraq supports Palestine through diplomacy, aid, and principled resistance. He stated that Iraq will continue standing with Gaza until justice and peace are achieved.

This latest meeting underscores how Iraq supports Palestine not only through words, but through concrete actions on the ground.
