Iraq Reaffirms Support for Lebanon Amid Regional Challenges

Baghdad, Iraq- Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani reaffirmed Iraq’s ongoing commitment to supporting Lebanon, particularly in providing fuel, during a phone call with Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam on Wednesday.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s media office, the two leaders discussed strengthening bilateral relations and addressing the latest regional developments. Al-Sudani extended his best wishes to Salam as he embarks on his new duties as Lebanon’s Prime Minister.

The Iraqi Prime Minister emphasized that Iraq would continue to assist the Lebanese people in line with decisions made by Iraq’s Council of Ministers, particularly in bolstering Lebanon’s resilience and capacity to face various challenges.

In response, Prime Minister Salam expressed his government’s commitment to deepening ties with Iraq across multiple sectors. He also reiterated Lebanon’s dedication to joint efforts aimed at ensuring security and stability in the region.
